This gorgeous high society opera lorgnette is crafted out of 18 ct yellow gold in France. This lovely detailed throughout attribute is engraved by hand and has a very royal appearance. Like most Victorian jewelry, in the center of this glasses-cover we find a graceful flower that is surrounded by elegant and floral curls. The many details and all the extra small engravings ensure that this large pendant is breathtakingly beautiful.

This Victorian heirloom is marked with French eagle heads and a makers mark AG. The glasses itself are in a very good condition considering their age. There are no big scratches in the glass, only some small cut-outs at the edges of the glass like you can see in the pictures. These folding glasses are provided with a hidden activation lever for the spring-load mechanism, so the glasses pop open once you pressed this release clasp.

This type of accessory were a common sight at the opera and theatre during the 19th century. They were the stylish and royal precursor to modern opera glasses. Freely translate the french word lorgnette means 'to eye furtively' meaning it was used for more than only to see the opera itself. Especially by this curios rich ladies in the balconies who, due to etiquette, were not allowed to look behind them to discover who entered their box and with whom this new spectator came to see the opera. Therefor they used these glasses as a secret mirror too, using the glasses reflection. I just tried it and I was amazed by the fact that it worked perfectly.

This 18 ct patina yellow gold bracelet is very abundant decorated, on top of that, all decorations are very well detailled. This joyful bracelet exists out of 8 shaped links that are placed next to each other vertically and connected with another line of vertical placed 8 shaped links. Polished cross like shapes adorn the central line of the bracelet. This fine antique brooch is a fabulous jewel of a fabulous beast. This 18K gold brooch has the horse head hallmark which reveals us this brooch is crafted in France between 1838 and 1919. This is the time Queen Victoria was the reign of England, since she was very influential, she also influenced the goldsmiths in France and other European countries. Therefore we can say this is an Victorian Brooch crafted in France.

The beast shown on the brooch is a wyvern. It’s a mythical beast which was very popular in tales told in the Middle Ages. It’s a biped legendary creature with legs which look like eagle claws, the head and wings of a dragon, a reptile body and a tail ending in the shape of an arrow. In contradiction to the most common dragons now a day, these wyverns only have two legs and don’t breath fire. In cultures around the Mediterranean this concept of winged snakes was very popular. During Victoria’s era, this creature was seen as a talisman against evil.

For sale is this stunning Catholic charm. This cute charm depicts Thérèse of Lisieux, also known as Little Flower of Jesus. She loved flowers and saw herself as the "little flower of Jesus," who gave glory to God by just being her beautiful little self among all the other flowers in God's garden. Because of this beautiful analogy, the title "little flower" remained with St. Therese. She is holding some lilies and a Jesus cross on the front of the medal, while she is encircled with the words 'Sainte Therese de l'enfant Jesus'.

The back of this little medal is engraved with the name Andree and the date 27 Mai 1937. This love medallion is crafted in 18k yellow gold and hallmarked with a French eagle head.
