Offered for sale is a vintage Swiss Made Zenith men's dress watch, presumably dating back to the mid 1940s. It features a stunning solid 18k yellow gold case with a subtle rose-gold hue and ornate stepped lugs, characteristic of watch design from the 1940s. Said case measures 32mm in diameter and just under 8.5mm in thickness. The dial on this particular example comes in a vertically brushed gold tone finish with Arabic numerals and a sub seconds dial at the 6 O'clock position.
Inside the watch sits a highly regarded Zenith caliber 106 manual winding movement, which is working perfectly. The watch was lovingly restored with eye for authenticity. Its movement was completely disassembled, cleaned and lubricated as part of a full service. A brand new and correct "Double Brace and Hole End" mainspring was installed to replace the very tired blue steel mainspring.
Cosmetically the watch has been worn throughout its life, but remains in good condition. The case has been thoroughly cleaned but was purposefully left unpolished to preserve its sharp edges and curves. You will find normal wear marks on the case and lugs, but no coarse damage. A brand new plexiglass crystal was fitted. The crown is unsigned but age appropriate and dustproof. Please study the pictures in this listing well: they show the watch in the condition that it is in, with no digital enhancements to make it look better than it is. We are sure that you like honesty, and so do we. Comes as a watch only: sadly no box or paperwork are present with this piece. The watch comes fitted with a brand-new Hirsch "Rainbow" open-ended strap and a Hirsch gold-plated buckle, ready to wear. Please note that the case has soldered and therefore fixed bars for the strap rather than conventional removable spring bars.
