For sale is a Swiss Made Omega men's watch with reference number 14389-10, dating back to 1961 based on its serial number. It features a gold capped stainless steel case which measures 35mm in diameter and just under 11mm in thickness. These models were fairly large for their time, and are therefore lovingly called "jumbo". The dial on this particular example comes in a silvery champagne finish. Dauphine shaped hands indicate the time, with a sub second dial at the 6 o'clock position. Inside the watch sits a gorgeous Omega 268 movement, a legendary caliber and a direct descendant from the renowned Omega Cal. 30T2. The watch comes fitted to a brand new Hirsch Boston brown leather strap with generic stainless steel buckle and quick release spring bars.
The example sold here has been worn throughout its life, but is still in good overall condition considering its age. You will find signs of wear on the case, but no overly coarse damage. The case is unpolished and therefore in original shape, with sharp edges and curves. The dial and hands show clear signs of aging, but the patina is fairly uniform and therefore adds to the character of the watch. The crown was not original when we acquired the watch, and we replaced it for a brand new and properly fitting generic example. The crystal is brand new and original, complete with Omega hallmark in the center. Functionally, the watch has received a full service prior to sale and is working perfectly. The movement was entirely disassembled, cleaned, lubricated and regulated.
