For sale is a Swiss Made Omega men's watch with reference number 14389-61-CSP, dating back to 1961 based on its serial number. It features a stainless steel case which measures 35mm in diameter and just under 11mm in thickness. These models were fairly large for their time, and are therefore lovingly called "jumbo". The dial on this particular example was most likely once finished in a silver colour, but has developed a creamy patina over the years: it has turned into an off-white tone with specks spread out uniformly across the watch face. Dauphine shaped hands indicate the time, with a sub second dial at the 6 o'clock position. Inside the watch sits a gorgeous Omega 268 movement, a legendary caliber and a direct descendant from the renowned Omega Cal. 30T2. The large jumbo style crown is original, and is signed with the Omega logo. The watch comes fitted to a brand new generic brown leather strap with generic stainless steel buckle.
The example sold here has been worn throughout its life, but is still in good overall condition considering its age. You will find signs of wear on the case, but no overly coarse damage. The case is unpolished and therefore in original shape, with sharp edges and curves. The dial and hands show clear signs of aging, but the patina is very uniform and therefore adds to the character of the watch. The crown is original and signed with the Omega logo.
