For sale is this Marvellous 18 K gold and silver Victorian brooch. This piece was crafted during the 19th century in France and is therefor also called a Napoleon III jewel. This stunning floral themed bar brooch is set with a bright blue sapphire, which give this beauty a strong and attractive appearance. Small but breath taking rose cut diamonds form a halo around this sapphire bringing the right amount of sparkles to this elegant brooch. On top of that, the whole bar is set with these lovely diamonds. 

A French eagle head is struck in the pin of the brooch, telling us that a part of this marvellous brooch was made in France out of 18k rose gold. This gold base is covered with silver. Goldsmiths from this era believed that only silver could hold beautiful stones like diamonds. Because this silver was able to render the real beauty of these diamonds.
