Offered for sale is a rare vintage Swiss-made Omega men's watch, dating back to the late 1930s and presumably bearing reference number CK 816. This watch predates Omega's stamped case references, but its design and dimensions correspond with those of other CK 816 examples. It features a round stainless steel case measuring 30.5mm in diameter and just under 10mm in thickness: fairly small by today's standards, but age-appropriate for 1939.
The intriguing aspect of the watch is its dial: matte black, with luminous Arabic numerals, sword-shaped luminous hands and, most importantly, a Türler signature. Türler was a renowned Swiss luxury retailer whose name appears alongside that of various prestigious watchmakers on vintage double-signed dials. Such signatures are of particular interest to collectors, as they connect a watch to the historic retailer through which it was sold. Finding one on an Omega dating back to the late 1930s makes this example particularly intriguing. The watch predates the outbreak of the Second World War and has no known military provenance, but its dial configuration certainly gives it a military-inspired appearance.

It is powered by the renowned Omega calibre 26.5 T2 SOB, a traditional 15-jewel manual-winding movement dating from Omega's interwar era. The movement was completely disassembled, cleaned and lubricated, and is running perfectly. The case was thoroughly cleaned but purposefully left unpolished to preserve its sharp edges and original finish. The plexiglass crystal is brand new and free from scratches. The crown is unsigned and presumed not to be original, but fits appropriately. The watch comes fitted with a brand-new Hirsch "Boston" black leather strap with contrast stitching, quick-release spring bars and a Hirsch-branded buckle, ready to wear. Sold as watch only: sadly, no original box or paperwork are present with this piece.
