For sale is a Swiss Made Chopard Mille Miglia Gran Turismo XL, an automatic men's watch with chronometer certification, presumably dating back to the early 2010s. This watch, as the name implies, has a distinctive link with motorsports and was produced to celebrate Chopard's partnership with the famous 1000 Miglia race in Italy. The watch in question features a matte white dial with luminous indices and a magnified date at the 3 O'Clock position, as well as a power reserve display at 6 O'clock. The polished steel hands are luminous as well, with a red-tipped seconds hand for that classic racing look. The dial bears the inscription "Chopard Certified Chronometer" as well as the 1000 Miglia logo and "Gran Turismo XL" model name. The screw-down crown is original and bears the 1000 Miglia logo.
Fitted to the watch comes the original rubber strap which replicates the 1960s Dunlop Racing tyre design, complete with Chopard deployment clasp. Through the display case back we can see a gorgeously decorated version of the ETA A07.161 movement, which is based on the renowned Valjoux 7750 but adds the power reserve feature. Said movement is working perfectly.
The example sold here has been worn, but is still in good condition. You will find normal wear marks on the case, but no overly coarse damage. The crystal is free from scratches to the naked eye. The strap has been worn, but is in good condition still. Please study the pictures in this listing well: they show the watch in the condition that it is in, with no digital enhancements to make it look better than it is. We are sure that you like honesty, and so do we. Functionally, the watch was thoroughly checked by a watchmaker and deemed perfectly functional: it is running accurately and with a healthy amplitude, so no service was deemed necessary. Accompanying the watch is its original Chopard cardboard outer box, inner presentation box (of which the pillow material sadly has deteriorated) as well as de document folder containing the instruction manual and warranty certificate. Sadly the tire pressure gauge is missing, but other than that it can be considered a full set.
