For sale are these rare day and night Napoleon III earrings. These 18 karat yellow gold dormeuse earrings (also called sleepers) have a front closure and are decorated with flower shaped ornaments, enamel, little pearls and are finished with a lot of detail. The fine details are well made and preserved considering their age. You can either wear them as small dormeuse earrings or gala party earrings with the dangling parts attached. These Flower shaped beauties are not marked but were tested for 18 karat gold. The dangling 'night'-parts are hallmarked with the French horse head hallmarks.
This particular hors-head hallmark is a French hallmark that was set in gold jewelry between 1838 and 1919. Meaning that this pendant is really dating back to the French Napoleon III period during English Queen Victoria's reign. Queen Victoria was an influential person.
