We are happy to introduce you to this work of art from the Napoleon III period during the late 19th century, also known as the late Victorian period. This collar brooch is crafted 18 K solid gold and features stunning floral hand engraved decoration. In the center of this beauty, we find a small but radiant old cut ruby. This little ruby is encircled with three small half seed pearls. The edges of this light brooch are engraved with scrolls, petals, floral shapes and a small but detailed rose. The many small details show how patient they have been in making such a beautiful jewel, purely handmade which still blows our minds.
The brooch is functioning and in good condition considering its age. It has some dents as visible in the pictures. One is is located in the plain gold part, the other small dents are only visible from the backside. This antique brooch is equipped with a C closure and a long pin typical of late nineteenth century, since clothing was fabricated in thicker materials. This light stunning brooch is hallmarked with a makers mark and a French eagle head, on the clasp as well as on its pin.
