For sale is an all-original vintage Swiss Made Mawi pocket watch, presumably dating back to the mid 1960s based on the age of the movement inside. This distinctive open-face pocket watch features a military-inspired design, with a matte black dial, sharply outlined luminous Arabic numerals and sword-shaped hands. A small seconds sub dial can be found at the 6 o'clock position. The dial has aged beautifully, showing no major damage: there are no chips or cracks, while the original printing remains crisp and clearly legible.
The watch is housed in an open-face metal case measuring 50mm in diameter. Inside said case sits a high quality Swiss Made Unitas 6431 manual-winding movement with 17 jewels. These movements are known for their robustness and reliability, with related Unitas calibres still being used today in larger mechanical watches from respected manufacturers such as Omega, Panerai and Hamilton.
The watch has been lovingly restored with attention to authenticity. The movement was completely disassembled, cleaned and lubricated during a full service, and is currently running perfectly. The case has been thoroughly cleaned but deliberately left unpolished in order to preserve its original character and patina. It shows normal signs of wear consistent with its age, but no coarse damage. A brand-new plexiglass crystal has been fitted. The watch is sold as watch only: sadly no original box or paperwork are included with this piece.
