For sale is a Swiss Made Omega men's watch with reference number 2512-2, dating back to 1950 based on its serial number. It features a gold plated case which measures 33mm in diameter and just over 10mm in thickness. The dial on this particular example was once finished in a silvery champagne vertically brushed finish, which has aged into a uniform 'crème brulée' patina. Dauphine shaped hands indicate the time, with a sub second dial at the 6 o'clock position. Inside the watch sits a gorgeous Omega 265 movement, a legendary caliber and a direct descendant from the renowned Omega Cal. 30T2. The watch comes fitted to a brand new Hirsch Duke brown leather strap with generic gold plated buckle and quick release spring bars.
The example sold here has been worn throughout its life, but is still in decent overall condition considering its age. You will certainly find signs of wear on the case, but no overly coarse damage. The case is unpolished and therefore in original shape, with sharp edges and curves. The dial and hands show clear signs of aging, but the patina is fairly uniform and therefore adds to the character of the watch. The crown is original and signed with the Omega logo, albeit a bit worn. The crystal was replaced for a brand new generic but perfectly fitting plexiglass crystal. Functionally, the watch has received a full service prior to sale and is working perfectly. The movement was entirely disassembled, cleaned, lubricated and regulated.
