All original, freshly serviced and working perfectly: a vintage Swiss Made Zenith pocket watch. This piece presumably dates back to the 1990s, and is most likely one of the last pocket watches Zenith made after demand for pocket watches in general dropped off. The front features a glossy white dial with black elongated Roman numerals and Feuille style hands. A sub dial at the 6 O'Clock position counts down the seconds. The dial has aged well: no chips or cracks can be found, and all lettering is still sharp and clear. It is housed in a gold plated full hunter style pocket watch case measuring 53mm in diameter. The "hunter" case features a clamshell design with a spring-hinged cover that closes over the watch dial and crystal. Said lid effectively protects the watch from damage, scratches or dust. The side of the case is finished with a coin edge machine turned pattern.
Behind the back clamshell we find a high quality and stunningly decorated Swiss Made Zenith Cal. 23.9 movement, visible through a plexiglass exhibition back. Said movement is based off of the renowned Unitas 6498, which is still in production to this day under ETA's wings. It is the same movement used in a number of larger high quality wristwatches, such as Omega, Hamilton and Panerai.
The watch was lovingly serviced with eye for authenticity. Its movement was completely disassembled, cleaned and lubricated, and is now working perfectly for years to come. The outside case has been cleaned entirely as well, but left unpolished to maintain its patina and originality. The gold plating shows some normal scratches from regular use, but the case is otherwise free from any coarse damage. A brand new front Savonette plexiglass crystal was fitted. Accompanying the pocket watch is its original Zenith velvet pouch, as well as a generic gold plated pocket watch chain. In all, a very well preserved and fully functional piece.
