Offered for sale is a rare vintage Swiss-made Omega "Carré" men's dress watch with reference number CK 3793-1, presumably dating to 1944 based on its serial number. Information and pictures of this watch are scarce: apart from Omega's own archive and an image shared by one Reddit user, no other examples of this watch appear to be available online. It features a square stainless steel case measuring 27mm in width and just under 10mm in thickness, housing a creamy silver dial with an outer open railroad track. Polished leaf-shaped hands indicate the time against applied gold-tone numerals.
The example offered here has been worn throughout its life but remains in decent condition considering its age. You will find wear marks on the case, but no overly coarse damage. The dial and hands remain in decent condition, with uniform signs of ageing. Please study the pictures in this listing carefully: they show the watch in its actual condition, without digital enhancements to make it look better than it is. We are sure that you appreciate honesty, and so do we.
The watch has been lovingly restored with an eye for authenticity and received a full service prior to being listed for sale. It is powered by the renowned Omega R17.8 SC "Seconde Centrale" manual-winding movement, which was completely disassembled, cleaned and lubricated as part of the service. The movement is currently running well. The case was cleaned but purposefully left unpolished to preserve its sharp edges and lines. The double-domed plexiglass crystal is free from scratches. The crown was generic when we first acquired the watch, but we managed to source and fit the correct dustproof Omega ST 22007 crown, complete with the Omega logo. The watch comes fitted with a brand-new Hirsch "Rainbow" brown leather strap with quick-release spring bars and a Hirsch-branded buckle, ready to wear. Sold as watch only: sadly no original box or paperwork are present with this piece.
