Offered for sale is a neo-vintage Mühle Vision 2000 (also known as V-2000) men's watch from the City 99 (M99) collection, with reference M1-99-40. Dating from the early 2000s, this sporty and understated German timepiece was manufactured by Nautische Instrumente Mühle Glashütte. Mühle is one of the few independent watchmakers based in Glashütte, Germany, owned by a local family with a history spanning six generations. The company evolved from producing precision measuring instruments into a respected maker of robust mechanical watches and nautical instruments.
The 40mm stainless steel case of this particular timepiece measures just under 11mm in thickness and features a matte black dial with guilloché centre, polished steel indices, and luminous sword-shaped hands. A date window is positioned at 3 o'clock. Behind the display caseback sits the Swiss Made ETA 2824-2 automatic movement, a legendary calibre known for its reliability and widely used by many respected watch brands such as Omega and Breitling.
This example has been worn throughout its life but remains in good condition considering its age. The case and clasp show minor signs of wear, without excessive damage. The dial and hands remain in excellent condition, and the sapphire crystal appears free from scratches under close inspection. Please study the photographs carefully, as they accurately represent the condition of the watch without digital enhancements. We are sure that you appreciate honesty, and so do we.
Functionally, the watch was lovingly restored with eye for authenticity, and has received a full service prior to being listed. The movement was completely stripped down, cleaned and lubricated, and is currently running perfectly. During said service, the mainspring, screw-down crown and tube were replaced with genuine Mühle parts. A brand new genuine Mühle black leather strap was fitted, while the original deployment clasp remains included. The watch is sold as a full set, including the original box, quality certificate, and the previously worn black strap.
