For sale is a Swiss Made Rolex Oyster Perpetual Date Deepsea Sea-Dweller "James Cameron" men's watch with reference number 116660, dating back to the year 2015 based on its paperwork. It features a chunky 44mm stainless steel case measuring 18mm in thickness, boasting a 3900m water resistance thanks to its helium escape valve and Triplock crown. The dial on this particular example comes in a so-called "D-Blue" finish, with gradient fading from blue to black, with "Deepsea" written in bright green. Said dial configuration is known as the "James Cameron" as it was introduced in 2014 to celebrate James Cameron's solo deep dive to the Mariana trench. Inside the watch sits a Rolex 3135 movement, one of Rolex's most highly regarded mechanical movements. The screw-down crown is original, decorated with the Rolex crown logo. Fitted to the watch comes the original stainless steel Oyster bracelet with signed clasp.
The example sold here has been worn throughout its life, but is still in good overall condition. You will find normal wear marks on both the case and bracelet, but no overly coarse damage. Said case has been cleaned entirely, but was purposefully left unpolished to maintain its original edges, curves and finish. The bracelet was lightly touched up on the polishing wheel, to give the brushed surfaces their original pop. The sapphire crystal with lens bubble looks free from scratches to the naked eye. The dial is looking clean, with crisp text and undamaged finish.
