For sale is a Swiss Made Hermès "Kelly Cadenas" Ladies' watch with reference 3901 or 39.01, dating back to 1992 based on its paperwork. This watch is inspired by the iconic "Kelly" bags and their padlock closure design: it features a distinct padlock shaped case in gold plated stainless steel, measuring 20x20mm. Said case attaches to the bracelet through a metal plate with loop resembling the Kelly handbag closure. The dial of the watch is finished in a bright white tone, while gold tone hands indicate the time on minimalist gold tone indices. The crown is original and bears the Hermes "H" logo. Inside, we find a Hermès signed PUW 5100 Swiss Made quartz movement, which is working perfectly. The watch comes fitted to its original Hermes cognac calfskin leather strap with original buckle.
The example sold here has been worn throughout its life, which is evident by quite a bit of wear marks on the case and bracelet. This is mostly caused by the design of the watch itself: the padlock is able to swing freely on the bracelet, gently knocking into itself and rubbing away the gold plating over time. The sapphire crystal looks unscathed to the naked eye however, and the dial and hands are in very good condition as well. The leather strap shows evident signs of wear as well, but is still perfectly useable.
