All original, freshly serviced and working perfectly: a vintage Swiss Made Longines Ultra-Chron wristwatch with reference 7950. It features a 37mm 18k solid yellow gold case, which can be considered fairly large for its age. The dial is best described as a matte dark brown colour with "stardust" speckles under certain lighting conditions. Combined with crosshair lines and gold tone accents, it's an absolute eye-catcher.
Inside we find a very intriguing Swiss Made Longines Cal. 431, an automatic movement with a much higher beat rate than your average watch: the Ultra-Chron was one of the earliest watches to operate at 36,000 bph at a time when the standard was just half that. The movement was completely stripped down, cleaned and lubricated, and is working perfectly. The watch in its entirety was lovingly restored with eye for authenticity: the case was cleaned but not polished, to maintain its sharp edges and lines. The crown does not bear any logo, but we have no reason to believe that it is not the original one as it is a perfect fit.
The watch is in decent condition considering its age, with visible yet minimal wear marks. The most notable damage is a few coarse scratches on the left side of the case. There is also a slight mark on the dial, just above the center. Please study the pictures in this listing well: they show the watch in the condition that it is in, with no digital enhancements to make it look better than it is. We are sure that you like honesty, and so do we. The watch comes fitted to a dark brown Swiss Made genuine leather strap with generic gold tone buckle, ready to wear. There is no paperwork or original box accompanying the watch, but we will provide a custom made watch storage roll to ship it to the buyer safe and sound.
