For sale is an iconic Swiss Made Omega Constellation Automatic Chronometre, with reference number 168.0058. Dating back to the early 1970s, this funky case design has been lovingly dubbed the "TV watch", as the shape of the case somewhat resembles a 70s television. The gold plated stainless steel case measures 34 by 40mm, making it a fairly sizeable watch for its time. The gold plating is executed in a lovely brushed finish with contrasting polished chamfers.
Behind the original plexiglass crystal, we find a gold tone dial with subtle vertically brushed finish, contrasting nicely with the black non-numeral indices and black baton style hands. A calendar window can be found at the 3 O'Clock position. The watch is powered by a high quality Chronometer-grade automatic movement, the Omega Cal. 1011. Fitted to the watch comes a generic brown leather strap with generic gold plated buckle, ready to wear.
The example sold here is in wonderful condition considering its age. The case shows minimal signs of wear, and still has the original finish. It was never polished, and therefore all lines and edges are still nice and sharp. The crystal also shows minimal wear marks, and is all original with Omega hallmark in the centre. The crown is original too and bears the Omega logo. The dial and hands have aged wonderfully, and are in as good a condition as a 1970s watch can be. Please study the pictures in this listing well: they show the watch in the condition that it is in, with no digital enhancements to make it look better than it is. We are sure that you like honesty, and so do we. Functionally, the watch has been freshly serviced with eye for authenticity, and is working perfectly. Comes accompanied by an original (but most likely not age appropriate) grey Omega presentation box with white cardboard outer box.
