Breitling has sponsored various classic aircraft, one such being the Lockheed C121C Super Constellation. To celebrate Breitling’s sponsored ‘Super Connie’ (one of only three flying worldwide) emerging from lengthy service work, a special-edition Navitimer model has been produced in 2011. Limited to only 1049 models, in recognition of Lockheed’s in-house model number 'L1049', the one offered for sale here bears the number 346.

Available only in stainless steel, the Navitimer Super Constellation carries an image of the iconic aeroplane on its case-back. The chronograph watch face is stylised by a black dial, applied baton indexes with luminescent dots, luminescent hands and red chronograph hand with B counterweight as well as an aperture for the date. The coin edged bezel features a tachometer scale and bidirectional revolving scale for slide rule. The beating heart of this watch is a Breitling Cal. 23 automatic lever movement with a power reserve of 42 hours.

The watch is sold as pre-owned, however it still is in like new condition. Both the sapphire glass and steel case show little signs of wear. The black leather strap is in good condition, but evidently has taken the shape of the cushion it sits on.
