Offered for sale is a vintage Swiss Made Tissot men's dress watch, dating back to the mid 1960s. It features a slender "monocoque" case design, crafted from a single piece of 18k solid yellow gold. Said case measures 33.5mm in diameter and is just 8mm thick. The bottom right lug is stamped with the Helvetia hallmark with letter "L" below it, indicating it is made from 18k gold and crafted in Le Locle, Switzerland where Tissot was and still is based. The dial on this particular example comes in a silver sunburst finish with minimalist gold/black indices and stick shaped hands. Inside the watch sits a high quality Tissot caliber 781 manual winding movement. The watch comes with a fitting black leather strap with generic buckle, to complete its vintage looks.
The example sold here has been worn throughout its life, but is still in decent condition given its age. The case has been cleaned entirely, but left unpolished to maintain its sharp edges and curves. You will find wear marks on the case and lugs, but no overly coarse damage. The dial has a few blemishes to its finish here and there, but has otherwise stood the test of time relatively well. A brand new plexiglass crystal was fitted. The crown is original and bears the Tissot logo. The movement was freshly serviced, and is working perfectly.
