Omega

For sale is a Swiss Made Omega Seamaster with reference number 145.024, which can be dated back to around 1970. This iconic Omega Chronograph has become known to Omega aficionados as the "flat Jedi". The stainless steel case is quite interestingly shaped, with a pretty flat profile and quite thin and exaggerated edges that protrude over where the bracelet or strap attaches. The front facing surface has a sunburst finish, which is original to the watch: it has never been polished, so the factory edges are nice and sharp. The dial once used go be the same color as the smaller sub-dials, but have discoloured over the years. The watch face now has a greenish bronze tint to its sunburst finish, which gives it a nice touch. The original bright orange colour of the hour, minute and second hands contrasts nicely with said dial. All hands related to the chronograph function are finished in white. Around the outer rim, a tachymeter scale can be found. The crown is original bearing the Omega logo.

Inside the watch we find a renowned caliber 861 hand-winding movement, which has been freshly serviced and is perfectly keeping time. It is based on a Lemania chronograph caliber which has been used in some of the most important chronograph watches in the world. It was also used in the renowned Speedmasters towards the end of the 1960s, and later iterations of this movement were implemented in the infamous Speedmaster "Moonwatches" that ended up in space. A black leather perforated "rally" style strap comes fitted to the watch, and a bright orange Morellato Lorica water-resistant anti-allergic strap will also be included to make this watch even more of an eye-catcher.

The example sold here has been worn throughout its life, but is still in wonderful condition considering its age. You will find some marks on the case when closely examining the watch. The case is unpolished and therefore in original shape. The glass has been replaced with an original example, which bears the Omega hallmark in the center and is free of any damage. Please study the pictures in this listing well: they show the watch in the condition that it is in, with no digital enhancements to make it look better than it is. We are sure that you like honesty, and so do we. Functionally, the watch has been serviced prior to sale and is working perfectly.

The watch comes without any paperwork or original box, but evidently we will provide a generic box to ship it to the buyer safe and sound. The item ships from Belgium and will be securely packaged and dispatched using the local postal service (BPost).
