For sale is a Swiss Made Omega Constellation Automatic Chronometer men's watch with reference number 168.0056, dating back to around 1971 based on its serial number. This watch features a so-called "C-shaped" case with fully integrated lugs, designed by none other than Géralt Genta, who is known for designing some of the most prominent watches out today (Patek Philippe Nautilus, Audemars Piguet Royal Oak among others).
The 35mm stainless steel case measures just 9.5mm in thickness. The dial on this particular example comes in a gorgeous blueish tone with purple hues in certain lighting conditions. Said dial sits fairly deeply recessed in the case, giving the overall watch face some added depth. The white and polished steel accents of the indices and hands contrast nicely with the dial colour, and a date window can be found at the 3 O'Clock position. Said date can be quickly adjusted using the original crown, which features the Omega logo. Inside the watch we find a renowned caliber 1011 automatic movement that is chronometer certified, and is working perfectly.
The example sold here has been worn throughout its life, but is still in good condition considering its age. You will find wear marks on the case when closely examining the watch, but no overly coarse damage. Said case is unpolished and therefore in original shape, with sharp edges and curves. The watch face has stood the test of time well, with minor signs of aging to the dial and hands.
