Offered for sale is a vintage Swiss Made Omega Genève men's dress watch, dating back to 1968. Its usual Swiss case reference is uncertain, as this watch was made for the French market. The case itself was made in France to evade high import duties at the time, and was engraved in a different system. Instead of a six or seven digit reference number, only "1031" is shown below the Omega logo on the inside of the case back. There is no 750 or 18k gold engraving either: instead, all parts of the case are stamped with the "tête d'aigle" hallmark. The presumable case number would be 168.010 or 168.011. Omega sadly were unable to confirm this: an extract from Omega's archives was requested but was not provided as they were unable to find all necessary details. The Omega Heritage Team was able to confirm however that the movement was produced on March 5th, 1968 and sent to France, where the case itself was made.

The watch features a slender 18k solid yellow gold case which measures 35mm in diameter and is just 11mm thick. The dial on this particular example comes in a creamy champagne sunburst finish, which has developed some patina over the years: its gold tone is not entirely uniform, and lightly speckled as well. Black stick shaped hands indicate the time on gold tone and onyx indices. A calendar window can be found at the 3 O'clock position. Inside the watch sits a renowned Omega 564 automatic movement with Chronometer specification, which is working perfectly. The watch comes on a generic black perforated leather strap with generic gold plated buckle.

The example sold here has been worn, but is in fairly good condition considering its age. You will find normal wear marks on the case and lugs, with a few more coarse scratches here and there. The case has been cleaned thoroughly, but left unpolished to maintain its original edges and curves. A brand new yet generic plexiglass crystal was fitted. The crown is original and signed with the Omega logo. The movement was freshly serviced, and is working perfectly. Please study the pictures in this listing well: they show the watch in the condition that it is in, with no digital enhancements to make it look better than it is. We are sure that you like honesty, and so do we. Sold as watch only: sadly no original box or paperwork are present with this piece.

Your newly acquired timepiece will be packaged with great care, and will be shipped out as fast as possible. We usually ship the same day your payment comes in, and provide full insurance as well as a tracking code for all of our packages.
