Offered for sale is a vintage Swiss Made Mercator men's watch with reference number 71290, presumably dating back to the mid 1970s. Not much can be found on the Mercator brand, but they did make quality Swiss watches back in the day. That makes this one quite rare, as no other example can be found online. It's a funky piece at that, with an oversize "pebble" or "UFO" stainless steel case measuring 40mm in diameter and 14.5mm thick.

The dial on this particular example comes in silver sunburst finish with black outer ring and funky red raised indices, on which equally funky lacquered hands indicate the time. A date window can be found at the 3 O'clock position, with a rather quirky weekday window showing the day in Dutch at the 9 O'clock position. The watch is powered by a renowned Swiss Made ETA 2789 automatically wound movement, containing 25 jewels. The watch comes fitted to a brand new black perforated strap with generic buckle, to complete its vintage looks.

The example sold here has been worn throughout its life, but is still in decent condition. The case has been cleaned entirely, but was left unpolished to maintain its original shape. You will find wear marks on said case, most notably a few dents around 5, 6 and 7 O'clock. A brand new plexiglass crystal was fitted, as well as a new generic crown. The dial shows some minor signs of aging but otherwise the watch face has stood the test of time very well.

Functionally, the watch has received a full service prior to sale and is working perfectly. The movement was entirely disassembled, cleaned, lubricated and regulated. The watch is characterised by its round stainless steel case with beefy lugs and raised circular brushed bezel. Said case measures 39mm in diameter and just under 12mm in thickness. The dial of this particular piece is finished in a stunning matte silver finish with circular texture. Polished stainless steel hands indicate the time on black Arabic numerals, while a small seconds sub dial can be found at the 6 O'clock position.

A curved sapphire crystal protects the watch face. The screw-down crown is original and bears the Baume & Mercier logo. The watch is powered by a high quality Swiss Made Baume & Mercier BM 11895 automatic calibre, which is responsible for the relatively unusual sub seconds feature. Said calibre is a more complicated and elaborate version of the highly regarded and widely used ETA 2892 movement, in this case the ETA 2895-1. The watch comes on a quality Hirsch "Kansas" black leather strap with quick release spring bars and generic Hirsch stainless steel buckle, ready to wear.

For sale is a beautiful military-inspired watch made by Hamilton Watch Co, who were based in Lancaster Pennsylvania at the time. The watch presumably dates back to the early 1990s. Despite Hamilton's American heritage, the watch is Swiss made and boasts a Swiss Made quartz watch. Hamilton used to make watches for different military purposes, and this is where the draws its inspiration from. The relatively small stainless steel case measures 32mm in diameter and 11mm in thickness, and features a fixed finely fluted bezel surrounding the domed mineral crystal.

Behind said crystal sits a plain white dial with typical military design queues: an outer railroad track, large luminous Arabic numerals, and luminous cathedral style hands. The crown is original and features the older Hamilton "H" logo. Inside the watch sits a Swiss Made ETA 955.422 quartz movement, which is working perfectly.

The example sold here has been worn throughout its life, but is still in good condition considering its age. You will find wear marks on the case, but no overly coarse damage. The crown is unsigned and therefore probably not original, but it is a typical and period correct oversize crown. Inside the watch beats a high quality Longines 23ZS manual wind movement, the successor to the highly regarded 10.68. Said movement was entirely disassembled, cleaned and lubricated, and is accurately keeping time. This collar brooch is crafted 18 K solid gold and features stunning geometrical decoration. In the center of this beauty, we find a half pearl set in a star-shaped setting. It is the center of a diamond shaped base with little handmade engravings. This geometrical center is flanked by 4 small dots, this whole is in turn encircled with an openwork representing blooming flowers, petals and scrolls. The many small details show how patient they have been in making such a beautiful jewel, purely handmade which still blows our minds.
