For sale is a Swiss Made Cartier Santos, with reference number 2965. If there's any watch that is instantly recognised as a Cartier, it would be the Santos: it has been around for over a century, with the first design being made in 1904. The model shown here is the so-called Octagon version, with an octagonal bezel and round dial. It dates back to the 1980s, making it a perfect example of a collectible vintage Cartier.
The watch features a 30mm stainless steel case, with the typical overly visible screws on the bezel and bracelet. The dial is finished in a matte white with black roman numerals and "railroad tracks" around the outer edge. The hands are tapered and finished in blued steel. At 3 O'clock, a date window can be found. The crown is original and set with a deep blue gemstone. The watch features a high-quality automatic movement with caliber number 2671. All of this is kept safe by a sapphire crystal.
The example sold here has been worn, but is still in good condition. You will find some wear marks on the case and bracelet, but no coarse damage such as harsh scratches or dents. Please study the pictures in this listing well: they show the watch in the condition that it is in, with no digital enhancements to make it look better than it is. We are sure that you like honesty, and so do we. Functionally, the watch has been freshly serviced and is keeping perfect time.
Please do note that the bracelet is currently sized to fit wrists with a maximum circumference of around 17cm. Decreasing the size is fairly easily done by removing some links, but to increasing the size you will need to buy spare bracelet links online or at a Cartier dealership.
The watch comes without any paperwork or original box, but evidently we will provide a generic box to ship it to the buyer safe and sound. The item ships from Belgium and will be securely packaged and dispatched using the local postal service (BPost).
