We are delighted to introduce this lovely 18 karat pinkish yellow gold patina medal featuring a chalice, which is a cup often use for drinking during a religious ceremony. A host is sparkling above it. This well detailled chalice is flanked with a hand engraved grapes. Grapes symbolise the Christian faith and represent the life hereafter. Furthermore it is encircled with a hand engraved decorated boarder in the shape of a flower. This royal charm is hallmarked with a rare French horse head mark. This particular hors-head hallmark is a French hallmark that was set in gold jewelry between 1838 and 1919. Meaning that this pendant is dating back to the French Napoleon III period during English Queen Victoria's reign.
The back of this marvellous charm is engraved with the date 10 June 1897, the elegant initials 'D E' and the text " Souvenir de 1re Communion ".
We love every little detail of this marvellous pendant. Its warm colour, the pretty detailed engravings, .. . This pendant will be a wonderful addition to your antique collection.
